The Schoolhouse can sleep 17 persons, with 5 bedrooms (2 downstairs) and a loft, 4 full baths (2 downstairs), and 2 dining areas.

There's also a spacious kitchen, with a microwave, dishwasher, two refrigerators, and two ovens.

Special features of the Schoolhouse include the cathedral ceiling living room, with satellite TV and an electric fireplace. Storage rooms (with racks for coats and skis) also have a washer and dryer. Outside, there's a pleasant front yard with a small deck and picnic tables. In back, the larger deck is covered, with a long table and portable barbecue grill (charcoal not provided).

The long dining table in the living area is a perfect place for family/group meals to re-live the day's fun on the ski slopes or the hiking trails:

The Schoolhouse also has a ski equipment room, with racks for hanging up your skis and boards.

Sleeping in the Schoolhouse will make you a part of Colorado history! It was built in the 1880's as a school, in the mining heyday of Garfield, when the valley had a teeming population of miners and families. The picture below is how the town looked in 1886. The red line points to the Schoolhouse.
